Keeping Track of Our Stuff with Oliver’s Labels #Review & #G!veaway
Last year, E1 and E2 went merrily off to school, all day, every day. Before their initial departure, I merrily and dutifully wrote their name inside their indoor shoes, on the label that comes with their backpacks, and on the only place I could find for their lunch bags, the care code found inside.
These items mostly came home when they were supposed to. The list of items that routinely did not come home was considerably longer. The number of hours spent attempting to track down and retrieve said items was enormous. And the quantity of notes written to the teacher asking her to pretty please take E1 to the lost and found and see if the wayward belongings had turned up? Let’s not even go there.
This year, to the rescue, Oliver’s Labels. We were allowed to customize a School Package to suit our family. Each School Package consists of 95 labels – more than enough to tag everything my kids can possibly take to school. Seeing the selection of shoes at our bus stop this year, I am glad my kids also have shoe labels to help identify the ones that are theirs. But the kit doesn’t contain just labels. It also contains one large bag tag (think luggage tag) and three smaller bag tags (these work really well on lunch bags).
The labels are very stretchy and resilient. The part I loved most about choosing my labels was the ability to customize each set of labels. Clothing labels? Cupcake motif. Bag tag? Ninjas. Mini-tags? A custom colour combination of grey background and orange printing.
The other unique feature of these labels is the Found It code. Have you ever found an item with a name on it but had no idea where to turn it in to return it to its rightful owner? Ever hesitated to put your address or phone number on your child’s belongings for fear of the information falling into the wrong hands? The Found It Code allows someone to connect with you, via e-mail, with Oliver’s Labels acting as an intermediary. Stuff gets returned, privacy remains intact.
We have found multiple uses for these labels. Even E4’s bottles have been labelled. Shoes, backpacks, spare change of clothes.
One of our worst lost item culprits last year? Water bottles and ice packs. Not this year!
